Synthesis and application of amino silicone oil

Hits: 857 img

Amino silicone oil, usually refers to the silane coupling agent containing amino group connected to the structure of organosiloxane polymer, the common coupling agent is 602 (N-β-(aminoethyl)-γ-aminopropyl Methyldimethoxysilane), 902 (γ-aminopropylmethyldiethoxysilane), increases the surface polarity and reactivity of the modified silicone oil through the amino groups of the side chain, which greatly improves the water emulsification of the silicone oil And the anchorage to the fiber fabric, improve the flexibility of silicone oil, washing resistance and emulsion stability.
Basic synthesis method: select octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane and the corresponding silane coupling agent to carry out ring-opening polymerization under the action of alkali catalyst, and generate stable amino silicone oil after equilibrium reaction.
Note: The reaction temperature should be determined according to the type of alkali catalyst selected. If potassium hydroxide is used, the temperature can be controlled at 130°C-140°C. After the reaction is completed, silyl phosphate or acetic acid must be added for neutralization. If it is tetramethylammonium hydroxide, the temperature needs to be controlled at 105°C-115°C. After the reaction is completed, the temperature needs to be raised between 135-145 to remove the catalyst.
Application: Amino silicone oil has different polarity according to its ammonia value. The higher the ammonia value, the higher its polarity and the better its emulsification. It can be emulsified with a smaller amount of emulsifier. The emulsion has good stability, has many anchor points to the textile fabric, and has good adsorption. The flexibility of the siloxane chain is more obviously reflected in the feel of the fabric. The ammonia value is low, and more emulsifiers are needed to emulsify it. The fabric has few anchor points, and the flexibility effect is not obvious, but the slipping effect of the macromolecular silicon-oxygen chain is more prominent. For amino silicone oil, it is mostly used on cellulose fiber fabrics, because more polar groups on cellulose fibers are more conducive to the adsorption of amino groups. Chemical fiber fabrics have fewer polar groups on the surface and have a denser internal structure and higher crystallinity. If it is high, a polymer with better structural compatibility and a finishing agent with better hydrophilic permeability are required for processing in order to obtain a better application feel.
