Silicone Sanitary Coatings

Hits: 591 img

Food hygiene is essential to human health. Coatings that meet hygienic standards are required in health care and food processing equipment. The way to achieve hygienic standards is either frequent cleaning or active sterilization of the paint surface. The selection of new biocides is subject to multiple scrutiny, and commercialization of new biocides requires expensive testing costs and cumbersome approval documents; conversely, prevention of microbial contamination can be achieved with easy-to-clean coatings, which can reduce a lot of hassle. The most common method of disinfection is UV radiation; however, UV radiation reduces the adhesion and abrasion resistance of organic resin coatings, and cleaning with abrasive cleaners and chemical disinfectants destroys the protective properties of the coating. If the silicone is introduced into the coating, it can give the coating excellent UV resistance, hydrophobicity, low surface energy (20-22 mN/m), non-stick and chemical cleaning agent performance, and prolong the service life of the coating.

my country's organic silicon food coatings have been developed in the 1980s, and the hygienic standard GB/T 11676-1989 for organic silicon anti-stick coatings for food containers has been formulated. It is suitable for silicone anti-stick coatings (such as silicone glaze) composed of hydroxyl-containing polymethylsiloxane and polymethylphenylsiloxane, and is coated on metal surfaces such as aluminum plates and tin-plated iron plates. After natural volatilization, high temperature baking and curing to form a film, it can be used as an anti-stick coating for food molds.
