At present, the college has the departments of chemistry, applied chemistry and materials science, the post doctoral station of chemistry, the doctoral degree authorization point of chemistry, the master's degree authorization point of chemistry and chemical engineering and technology, the master's degree authorization point of chemical engineering, the chemical advantage discipline of Jiangsu Province, and the national and local joint engineering of biomedical functional materials Cheng Research Center, Jiangsu biomedical functional materials Collaborative Innovation Center, Jiangsu biomedical functional materials key laboratory, Jiangsu new power battery Key Laboratory, Jiangsu biomedical Functional Materials Engineering Research Center, Jiangsu extraction and separation engineering technology research center and Jiangsu industrial waste solvent recycling and Application Engineering Technology Research Center; Jiangsu chemical Experimental teaching demonstration center and Jiangsu chemical engineering and material practice education center; the first batch of national and provincial high school chemistry backbone teacher training bases established in China; the Journal of chemistry teaching and learning sponsored by the college is distributed nationwide; the college is also a affiliated unit of the chemistry Professional Committee of Jiangsu Education Society.
In terms of the construction of the faculty, the college has cultivated and introduced a number of excellent talents from well-known universities and research institutes at home and abroad, such as the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, etc. At present, the college has 109 faculty members and 83 full-time teachers, including 53 professors (34 doctoral supervisors); 1 expert of the "national thousand talents program", 1 special professor of the "Yangtze River scholars Award Program" of the Ministry of education, 1 science and technology innovation leader of the "ten thousand talents program", 1 winner of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, 1 young scholar of the "Yangtze River scholars Award Program" of the Ministry of education One young top talent of "ten thousand talents program" and two winners of National Excellent Youth Science Foundation; one innovation and entrepreneurship team of Jiangsu Province, two innovation and entrepreneurship talents of Jiangsu Province, seven distinguished professors of Jiangsu Province, eight talents of "six talent peaks" program of Jiangsu Province; six people enjoy special government subsidies; six people are rated as "333 project of Jiangsu Province" science and technology leaders; more than ten people are rated as "blue and green project" of Jiangsu Province ”Academic leaders and outstanding young backbone teachers. At present, 97.5% of the college's teaching and scientific research personnel have doctor's degree; 65% of the teachers have overseas study experience. A talent team with high educational level, great development potential and reasonable age structure has been formed.
After years of construction and development, through interdisciplinary integration, the college has formed six research directions: biomaterial chemistry, Interface Electrochemistry, inorganic synthetic chemistry, life analysis chemistry, organic functional molecular design and synthesis, fine chemistry and related technologies. In the past five years, the college has undertaken more than 300 projects, including "863" project, NSFC key and general project, national development and Reform Commission project and Jiangsu Provincial Science and Technology Department, with research funds of nearly 100 million yuan; in PNAS, J. am. Chem. SOC., angel. Chem. Int. ed., adv. mater., acc. chem. Res., ACS Nano and other international well-known academic journals published more than 700 papers included in SCI, 80 authorized invention patents, nearly 20 academic monographs, 3 provincial and ministerial first prizes, 2 second prizes and 3 third prizes, including the excellent achievement award of scientific research (Science and Technology), China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation (Science and Technology), Jiangsu Provincial Science and technology progress award, etc In the ESI paper quantity and quality evaluation system, both chemistry and materials disciplines are in the top 1% of global scientific research institutions.
