1、 Introduction to professional category
In 2006, Nanjing Normal University, as one of the first 12 Pilot Universities in China, began to recruit and train graduate students majoring in Chinese international education. So far, nearly 500 graduate students majoring in Chinese international education have been recruited and cultivated.
Chinese international education refers to the teaching and research of Chinese as a second language for foreigners, involving linguistics, educational psychology, pedagogy, culture and other interdisciplinary fields. This subject aims to reveal the learning strategies, learning psychology, acquisition laws and teaching methods of Chinese as a second language through the research of Chinese ontology and Chinese as a second language teaching, so as to formulate the basic language laws and teaching principles of Chinese teaching, and to guide teaching practice and improve teaching efficiency.
The training contents of the degree of Chinese international education are divided into two aspects: theoretical study and teaching practice. Theoretical learning includes linguistic theory, educational psychology, Chinese teaching skills, culturology, computer technology, etc. teaching practice includes Chinese teaching method, teaching skills learning for students and Chinese teaching practice at home and abroad. In the process of training, we should make full use of the tradition and advantages of normal education, integrate the school's teachers' education, music, sports, art and other teachers for our own use, and make full use of the resources and favorable conditions of the education of overseas students in our college, so as to ensure that the students cultivated have high comprehensive quality and strong practical ability.
Our school has practice bases in several countries, and the vast majority of students can pass the volunteer selection examination organized by Hanban and send them to practice on post. Therefore, the students have more than half a year of overseas or domestic Chinese teaching practice experience. Most of the students trained in our school are Chinese teachers in international schools, domestic primary and secondary school teachers, civil servants, other enterprises and institutions engaged in foreign work, and other students are qualified to stay in overseas schools for teaching.
II. Training objectives
The master's degree in Chinese international education is a professional degree that connects with the profession of international Chinese teachers. The main purpose is to cultivate high-level, applied, compound and international professionals with proficient Chinese as a second language teaching skills, good cultural communication skills and cross-cultural communication ability, who can adapt to the international promotion of Chinese and are competent for various teaching tasks.
The master's degree of Chinese international education cultivates professional technical talents with socialist core values and corresponding professional ethics under the guidance of Marxist basic theory. We should have a good command of Chinese as a second language teaching skill, and be able to use modern educational technology and scientific and technological means for teaching. With high Chinese cultural literacy and communication ability, cross-cultural communication ability, and proficient in using a foreign language for teaching and communication, in international communication, with the ability of management, organization and coordination of international promotion projects of language and culture. It can adapt to modern education management, have international vision and excellent academic literacy, and further conduct in-depth research and guide practical work in professional fields.
III. academic system and credits
The length of schooling for master's degree is 2 years, and the maximum length of schooling (including the suspension time) is no more than 5 years. The total credits shall not be less than 39.
IV. training mode
The postgraduate of master's degree of Chinese International Education in our university adopts full-time training mode.
1. The first academic year of master's degree focuses on the study of professional theoretical knowledge, focusing on the cultivation of students' basic professional quality, scientific research ability and teaching principles, mastering the frontier theories of related disciplines, and broadening academic horizons.
2. The combination of concentration and segmentation of professional teaching practice. Students will take part in Chinese teaching practice after internship in China. As a volunteer, I went abroad for internship, engaged in Chinese teaching and cultural communication in Confucius Institute, foreign primary and secondary schools and other institutions, or conducted teaching internships in various schools and educational institutions in China.
3. Thesis research and writing mode combined with Chinese international education industry. The first academic year of master's degree focuses on improving scientific research ability and training thesis writing methods. It requires scientific research methods to independently complete high-quality thesis with reasonable topics, detailed materials and academic norms.
4. The tutor is responsible for the training mode of combining with the collective guidance of the tutor group; the training mode of combining in school tutor guidance and out of school tutor joint training.
V. training links
1. Determination of double tutors: after the graduate students enter the University, they will be assigned full-time tutors, and a tutor group will be established until they pass the thesis defense; at the latest, they will determine the practice tutors before they start the professional practice.
2. Make training plan: within one and a half months after enrollment, make personal training plan under the guidance of the tutor, and submit it to the college for filing after being reviewed and approved by the tutor. The college issues training manual to guide graduate students to understand specific requirements and specifications and fill in relevant contents accurately.
3. In addition to completing the course under the guidance of the tutor group, postgraduates must attend the "Chinese international education development frontier lecture" for 4-6 times and write a study report. Those who pass the tutor's review are deemed to have completed the industry development frontier lecture course and counted as 1 credit.
4. Practice link: graduate students need to participate in teaching practice at home and abroad during their study period. They are mainly sent out after they have participated in and passed the volunteer selection and allocation examination of Hanban. They are not allowed to give up the assignment task without special circumstances. Generally, the teaching internship shall be completed in the first academic year, and the time shall not be less than 2 weeks. The assessment shall be conducted in the form of lecture and trial lecture, and the person who passes the assessment shall obtain 1 credit. Teaching practice is generally completed in the second academic year, with a time of no less than 6 months. Those who submit a complete practice report and pass the assessment of the practice instructor's score will receive 5 credits. Graduate students should strictly abide by the system of teaching probation, practice guidance, supervision and examination. After the graduate students go to the practice base, they should keep in touch with their tutors regularly, and report to their tutors on their work and the progress of their graduation project. Our school keeps close contact with graduate students' teaching practice units at home and abroad, so as to obtain the evaluation information of graduate students' teaching units and teaching objects. The full-time personnel shall be assigned to manage the teaching, practice, archives and other aspects of the master's students majoring in Chinese international education.
5. Dissertation: the topic selection of dissertation shall be determined after professional practice. The thesis topics should be closely combined with the practice of Chinese international education, which has practical value.
Vi. Curriculum
The postgraduate courses of master's degree of Chinese International Education in our university are oriented by practical application, aiming at the professional needs of teachers of international Chinese, focusing on the cultivation of Chinese teaching ability, Chinese cultural communication ability and cross-cultural communication ability, forming a curriculum system with compulsory courses as the main guide, elective courses as the supplement and professional practice as the key. Among them, the compulsory courses shall be no less than 22 credits, including 4 credits for public degree courses, 8 credits for basic theory degree courses and 10 credits for professional basic degree courses; graduate students can take part in industry lectures more than 4 times and write study reports, which can be counted as 1 credit.

Note: according to the training requirements of the master students of our college, complete the courses prescribed by this major and obtain corresponding credits, among which "China profile" should be arranged and required as a compulsory course for the master students studying in China.
7. Dissertation
1. Thesis topics: thesis topics should be closely combined with the practice of Chinese international education, which has practical value. The form of dissertation can be special research, research report, teaching experiment report, typical case analysis, teaching design, etc. In addition to the thesis tutor, it will also attract experts and teachers from the front line of international Chinese teaching (especially primary and secondary schools) with senior professional and technical positions to participate in the thesis guidance. 2. Process management: in order to ensure the quality of dissertations, the dissertations shall be reviewed three times by professional degree points or tutors (groups) before defense. First, the examination of the topic selection and opening report of dissertations in the early stage, second, the examination of the progress and completion of dissertations in the middle stage, and third, the examination of the quality and level of dissertations after the basic completion.
3. Paper blind examination: professional degree graduate students' dissertation shall be subject to the blind examination system of experts inside and outside the University, and only after passing the examination can they reply. The blind review of professional degree postgraduate thesis shall be conducted by three experts independently, at least one of whom is an expert with senior professional and technical titles or positions in the industry.
4. Thesis defense: the dissertation defense committee is composed of 3-5 experts, at least one of whom is an expert with senior professional and technical titles or positions in the industry.
8. Graduation and degree awarding
Postgraduates who have completed the course study and professional practice specified in the training plan, completed the required credits, passed the examination results and teaching practice, completed the dissertation and passed the respondent, met the relevant provisions of the regulations of the people's Republic of China on academic places, and reached the degree award standard of the University, which was reviewed by the degree evaluation committee of Nanjing Normal University, The master's degree in Chinese international education is awarded, and the graduation is approved, and the master's graduate certificate is obtained at the same time.
