The discipline construction of Marxism College of Nanjing Normal University has a long history and profound academic accumulation. The discipline organization can be traced back to the 1950s. In 1958, it began to establish the major of political education, later renamed the major of Ideological and political education. In 1990, it was approved to grant the master's degree of Ideological and political education. In 1998, it was approved to grant the doctor's degree of "Marxist theory and ideological and political education". In 2004, it was rated as a national key discipline. In 2006, it was awarded the doctor's degree of the first level discipline of Marxist theory Quan, in 2008, won the post doctoral station of Marxist theory.
The college has formed a Marxist theoretical discipline platform with complete disciplines, outstanding features and obvious advantages. It has the national key discipline of "basic principles of Marxism", and "Marxist theory" is the first-class discipline key discipline of Jiangsu Province, the superior discipline of Jiangsu University, and the National Key Discipline Cultivation point of Jiangsu Province. The college has the key research base "Marxism Research Institute" of Jiangsu Provincial Department of education, the "research base of theoretical system of socialism with Chinese characteristics" of Jiangsu Province, the training and training base of ideological college counselors of the Ministry of education, and the training and training base of ideological college counselors of Jiangsu Province.
At present, the college has the right to confer doctor's degree in the first level discipline of "Marxist theory" (6 second level disciplines), "post doctoral mobile station of Marxist theory" discipline, and undergraduate major of Ideological and Political Education (non normal university). In 2012, the national discipline evaluation organized by the academic degree Office of the State Council ranked 6th in Marxism theory discipline of our college, and in 2015, the post doctoral mobile station of Marxism theory of our college was rated as excellent in the evaluation organized by the Ministry of human resources and social security.
At present, the college has undertaken 2 major bidding projects of national social science fund, 2 key projects of national social science fund, 6 general and youth projects of national social science fund, 2 second prizes of excellent social science achievements of the Ministry of education, 2 first prizes of excellent social science achievements of Jiangsu Province, and 2 second prizes of excellent social science achievements of the Ministry of education. In the research of Marxism, guide of Ideological and theoretical education, Marxism and reality, China Many papers have been published in the research on the history of the Communist Party of China and other national authoritative journals, and two achievements have been selected into the "National Social Science Foundation excellent achievements library".
