A brief introduction to the postgraduate entrance examination of School of Journalism and communication, Nanjing Normal University

Journalism and communication education in Nanjing Normal University started in 1964, and has been more than 50 years. In June 1964, the Ministry of Education approved the Publicity Department of Jiangsu provincial Party committee and agreed to set up a journalism major in Nanjing Normal University. In that year, 30 students were enrolled. In 1977, the national college entrance examination was resumed. Nanjing Normal University recruited 40 journalism students, who were under the direct leadership of the Propaganda Department of the provincial Party committee. Xinhua daily and the school jointly managed the course. The school was responsible for the theoretical course, and the head teacher and the practical course were appointed by Xinhua Daily. Since 1984, with the direct intervention of the Propaganda Department of the provincial Party committee, journalism has resumed its continuous enrollment. In May 1990, the Publicity Department of Jiangsu provincial Party committee established Jiangsu journalism talent training center in Nanjing Normal University. In April 1995, Nanjing Normal University formally established the school of Journalism and communication on the basis of Journalism and audio-visual education. The college has a complete set of specialties and a complete discipline level. The college consists of five departments, including the Department of journalism, the Department of radio and television, the Department of advertising, the Department of network and new media system, and the Department of film and television photography. It is open to undergraduate students majoring in journalism, radio and television, advertising, network and new media, and radio and television director, among which journalism is one of the first batch of specialties in China and one of the specialties in Jiangsu Province, and Journalism and communication is one of the "ten specialties" in Jiangsu Province Key disciplines of "Five Year Plan".
The college has 1 doctoral program in the first level discipline of Journalism and communication, 1 master program in the first level discipline of Journalism and communication, 3 master programs in journalism, communication, radio and television art, and 2 professional degree programs in journalism and communication and radio and television (Master of Art). Since 2001, journalism has successively obtained the key disciplines of Jiangsu Province during the "Tenth Five Year Plan", "Eleventh Five Year Plan" and "Twelfth Five Year Plan"; in 2016, journalism and communication discipline was selected as the only primary discipline of Journalism and Communication Science in Jiangsu Province during the "13th five year plan"; in 2018, journalism and communication science was selected as the third phase of University advantage discipline in Jiangsu Province.
At present, the college has 65 faculty members, including 45 full-time teachers, 14 professors (researchers), 20 associate professors, 8 doctoral supervisors and 27 postgraduate supervisors. The college has the research center of media and social development, the research center of public opinion and social governance, the press Research Institute of the Republic of China and other key institutions at school level, as well as the Research Institute of media and rule of law, the Research Institute of photographic cultural industry and image communication, the Research Institute of modern advertising, the Research Institute of media development and crisis management, the Research Institute of publishing and communication, and the Research Institute of new media. Jiangsu provincial news talent training center and Jiangsu provincial Party committee and government press spokesman training base are affiliated to the Institute, and the editorial department of Jiangsu government opinion is also set up. Our institute is the president unit of media laws and Ethics Research Association of China press history society and the president unit of Jiangsu Science, education, film and Television Association.
The media experimental center is the experimental teaching demonstration center of Jiangsu Province, the characteristic and advantageous subject laboratory jointly built by the central and local governments. It has 2800 square meters of rooms, telephone survey laboratory, digital HD studio, satellite TV acquisition laboratory, electronic news acquisition and editing laboratory, media integration laboratory and other laboratories.
Since the 12th Five Year Plan, the college has won one first prize of excellent teaching achievements in Jiangsu Province (the only one in journalism and communication); seven outstanding achievements of philosophy and Social Sciences in Jiangsu Province and outstanding achievements of scientific research in Institutions of higher learning (HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCES) of the Ministry of Education, including one first prize and three second prizes; it has undertaken 12 national social science fund projects, including one major project and three key projects 4 projects and 1 major project of Jiangsu Social Science Fund. The college has successively published "public opinion and social governance cluster", "news communication history exploration cluster", "new space-time cluster of film and television communication", "contemporary media and society", "information communication and social development cluster", "news and communication application series", "contemporary media news practice series", "radio and television art series", "film and television communication art and Technical series, radio, film and television art editing series, photography art series and other series. The development of media and rural society, the history of journalism in the Republic of China, media laws and ethics, new media and social governance, etc. carried out by the college have formed characteristics and advantages.
In recent years, the college has rich scientific research activities and strong academic atmosphere. It has successively held academic seminars on media and social development, high-level forum on the history of journalism in the Republic of China, academic seminar on media laws and ethics, postgraduate Forum on media discipline in Jiangsu Province, and organized a series of academic exchanges within the college. The "accompanying media forum" composed of academic experts, and the "Media Forum" launched by industry elites On "Jian" and "Academic Salon for truth seeking teachers" and "Postgraduate Salon for good learning", etc.
In the past half century, Nanjing Normal University has sent more than 6000 talents of all levels to the society. At present, there are more than 1100 students, including more than 300 masters and 21 doctors.
