The history of the school of public management of Nanjing Normal University can be traced back to the Marxism Leninism teaching and Research Office of Nanjing Normal University established in the autumn of 1953. It has gone through the departments of politics and education, the Marxism Leninism department, the school of economics and law, and the school of politics and administration to today's School of public management. It has been handed down from the past to the present. In recent years, the college adheres to the school running policy of "consolidating the foundation, cooperating with innovation, improving the quality and highlighting the characteristics", and various undertakings have achieved leapfrog development. At present, the college has 69 faculty members, including 56 full-time teachers, 20 professors, 20 associate professors, 1 foreign professor, 80% of whom have a doctor's degree, including 4 returned doctors. At present, the college has won 2 titles of national excellent teachers, 1 high-level young and middle-aged technology leader of "333 project" in Jiangsu Province, 1 high-level young and middle-aged technology leader, 1 science and technology innovation team of "Blue Project" in Jiangsu Province, 3 young and middle-aged academic leaders and 3 backbone teachers, 1 "five one batch" talent of publicity and culture system in Jiangsu Province, and 1 "doctor of entrepreneurship and innovation" in Jiangsu Province; One sponsor of "six talent peaks" project; one young and middle-aged expert with outstanding contribution in Nanjing.
The college covers philosophy, politics and public management. Philosophy is the dominant discipline in Jiangsu Province, and political science is the key construction discipline in Jiangsu Province. The college has two first-class discipline doctoral degree authorization points of philosophy and political science, two postdoctoral mobile stations of philosophy and political science, three first-class discipline master's degree authorization points of philosophy, political science and public management, master's degree authorization points of Public Management (MPA), and three undergraduate majors of philosophy, administrative management and public service management.
The college consists of philosophy department, politics department and administration department. It has national civil affairs policy theory research base, East Asia International Research Center of Jiangsu University, Jiangsu socialist culture theory research center, Jiangsu rural culture revitalization research center and other provincial and ministerial key research institutions. The Research Institute of economic ethics of the research center of ethics and moral construction of Renmin University of China, the key research base of the hundred Institute of Humanities and social sciences of the Ministry of education, and the training base for talent selection and interview examiners of Jiangsu Province are affiliated to the school of public management.
There are four majors in the school of public management, with a total of 200 postgraduates enrolled in 2020.
