College introduction
The College of physical science and technology of Nanjing Normal University originated from the Department of physics of Nanjing Normal University in 1952. In December 2000, the College of physical science and technology was established, which consists of the Department of physics, the Department of Applied Physics, the Department of electronic information engineering, the Department of Communication Engineering, the Institute of physics, the Institute of optoelectronic technology and the Institute of physical education.
The overall level of the faculty is high, with 95% of full-time teachers and 45% of professors having doctoral degrees. The college has two professional degree programs, i.e. the first level discipline doctor program of physics, the second level discipline doctor program of physics electronics, the first level discipline master program of physics, the first level discipline master program of optical engineering, the first level discipline master program of Electronic Science and technology, and the two professional degree programs of optical engineering and electronic and communication engineering.
In recent years, the main research fields of teachers and students include condensed matter physics, particle physics, astronomy, micro nano optoelectronics, photoelectric magnetic functional materials, optical information processing, acoustic information processing and imaging. A number of influential academic achievements have been published in Physical Review Letters, applied physics letters, optical letters and physical Review series and other internationally renowned academic journals of physics and application. Graduates of the college not only become backbone teachers in Nanjing foreign language school, attached middle school of South Normal University, Jiangsu Tianyi middle school and other high-quality education entities, but also serve as the main business force in international well-known enterprises such as Huawei, ZTE, apple, Philips, etc., as well as in scientific research institutions such as Chinese Academy of Sciences and 14 research institutes, which are widely praised by employers.
