On April 15, 2020, Professor Zhu Ziqiang, School of life sciences, Nanjing Normal University, published a research paper entitled "UV-B response: when uvr8 meets mybs" online at trends in plant science.
It is well known that plants respond to UV-B light, but how UV-B regulates plant growth and development in organ specific way is still unknown. The results show that UV-B photoreceptor uvr8 interacts with different MYB transcription factors in the cotyledon and root of Arabidopsis thaliana to control cotyledon expansion and lateral root growth respectively.

Summary of Professor Zhu Ziqiang's scientific research work:
Under the action of different hormone treatments or environmental factors (such as light, high temperature, etc.), Arabidopsis seeds show different phenotypes in tip hook development, hypocotyls extension and root elongation, which is proposed to be a theoretical model for studying plant plasticity development. The results include: (1) the analysis of the molecular mechanism of jasmonic acid and ethylene co decomposition on the inhibition of root extension; (2) the analysis of the molecular mechanism of jasmonic acid and ethylene CO oxidation on the prevention of the development of the top hook of the decomposed etiolated seedlings; (3) the analysis of the molecular mechanism of jasmonic acid on the inhibition of dark morphogenesis; (4) )To analyze the molecular mechanism of environmental high temperature inhibiting ethylene on the development of hooks at the top of etiolated seedlings (Fig. 1). The decomposition mechanism of cell totipotency and plant timing development to cell totipotency, in order to analyze the mechanism of plant plasticity development.
