Rubber Additives Industry Focuses on 20 Key Processes During the "15th Five-Year Plan" to Lead Green and Intelligent Transformation

Hits: 53 img

On January 12, 2026, the "15th Five-Year Plan" for the rubber additives industry officially identified 20 key application processes for priority development and promotion, covering five core areas including accelerators, antioxidants, adhesives, and silica. The plan aims to address environmental bottlenecks, improve production efficiency, and drive the industry towards green, continuous, and intelligent transformation through technological innovation.
The plan proposes that the industry should deepen industry-university-research collaborative innovation and join hands with universities and research institutes to tackle forward-looking technologies relying on existing innovation platforms. Among the key promoted processes, environmentally friendly and clean technologies are the core direction: processes such as solvent-based M and oxygen oxidation DM replace traditional acid-base and sodium sulfite oxidation processes, achieving zero wastewater discharge; hydrogen peroxide-based synthesis of TBzTD, CBS and other products eliminates the generation of saline wastewater and chlorine-containing waste gas from the source. Resource recycling technologies are also impressive: the comprehensive utilization process of M by-products realizes the recovery of solvents, aniline and other resources through multi-stage distillation and crystallization filtration, achieving the dual goals of "pollution reduction and resource reuse".
Significant breakthroughs have been made in continuous and intelligent production technologies. Microchemical technology has been successfully applied to the production of various products such as M and DM, solving the pain points of low efficiency and high safety risks in traditional batch production; the continuous process of antioxidant RD has increased the effective content from over 40% to more than 70%, with a 35% increase in production capacity. In the field of green materials, the carbonation process for silica production uses carbon dioxide as raw material, consuming 0.5 tons of carbon dioxide per ton of product, which has both environmental and performance advantages and excellent application performance in green tires.
In addition, the application of computational chemistry AI data models and new catalytic systems provides a new path for the industry's technological upgrading. The promotion and implementation of these processes will help the rubber additives industry reduce costs and increase efficiency, cut emissions and consumption, and enhance international competitiveness.
