The mechanism of action of vinyltrimethoxysilane

Hits: 223 img

Vinyl trimethoxysilane works through the following mechanisms:

Hydrolysis reaction: Methoxy groups hydrolyze under the action of water to form silanols.

CH₂=CH-Si(OCH₃)₃+3H₂O→CH₂=CH-Si(OH)₃+3CH₃OHCH₂=CH-Si(OCH₃)₃+3H₂O→CH₂=CH-Si(OH)₃+3CH₃OH
Condensation reaction: Silanols react with hydroxyl groups on the surface of inorganic materials to form Si-O-Si bonds.

Polymerization reaction: Vinyl groups can copolymerize with double bonds in organic materials to form a stable interface layer.
