November 25, 2025 - Twelve organosilicon-related standards drafted by Beijing Sino Advanced Chemical Materials Institution have successfully passed the project approval review or entered the formulation stage, covering core areas such as product specifications, testing methods, and safe production. These standards will provide crucial technical support for the high-quality development of the organosilicon industry.
Among the approved standards, three group standards were included in the second batch of 2025 project initiations: "Low Viscosity Methyl Silicone Oil", "Thermal Conductive Silicone Gel for Electronic Equipment", and "Liquid Silicone Rubber for Organosilicon Synthetic Leather". The group standard "Dicarbadodecaborane" was approved in the first batch of 2025. Meanwhile, eight standards, including "Determination of Silanol Hydroxyl Content in Hydroxyl Silicone Oil - Lithium Aluminum Hydride Method", "Liquid Silicone Rubber for Oral Myofunctional Appliances", and "Safe Production Technical Specifications for Hydrogen-Containing Silicone Oil", are under formulation, including one national standard "Determination of Chloride Ion Content in Liquid Organosilicon - Ion Chromatography Method".
These standards cover key links of the organosilicon industry chain: they not only define specifications for core products such as low viscosity methyl silicone oil and epoxy-terminated polyether silicone oil, but also standardize testing methods for critical indicators including silanol hydroxyl content, D4/D5/D6 residual amounts, and chloride ion content. Additionally, they involve process control requirements such as safe production technology for hydrogen-containing silicone oil, and focus on special material standards for segmented application fields like electronic thermal conductivity, oral medical care, and synthetic leather.
Beijing Sino Advanced Chemical Materials Institution stated that the formulation of these standards aims to fill the gaps in some areas of the organosilicon industry, standardize product quality and production processes, and enhance the overall technical level and market competitiveness of the industry. To ensure the scientificity, rationality, and operability of the standards, relevant enterprises and units are sincerely invited to participate in the standard formulation work.
Industry insiders pointed out that the gradual implementation of these standards will effectively address issues such as uneven product quality and inconsistent testing methods in the organosilicon industry, helping the industry transform towards standardization and high-endization, and providing more reliable material guarantees for downstream application fields such as new energy, electronics, and medical care.
