Amidst increasingly stringent ecological environment regulations, low-VOC coatings have become a necessity for enterprise construction. However, traditional solvent-based coatings often fail to meet standards due to excessively high VOC content. Recently, the promotion and application of high-solid coatings have offered an effective solution to this challenge.
High-solid coatings boast a solid content of over 60% at application viscosity, with organic solvent content only ranging from 20% to 35%, meeting low-VOC standards. They combine the decorative properties of solvent-based coatings with environmental advantages, featuring high construction efficiency with a single coat thickness exceeding 50μm. Covering epoxy, polyester, acrylic, polyurethane and other types, they are suitable for scenarios such as automotive manufacturing, water conservancy projects, and coil production. For instance, epoxy high-solid coatings can be applied in humid environments, while polyurethane-based ones have a maximum solid content of 80% and a service life of up to 30 years.
As eco-friendly solvent-based coatings, high-solid products not only meet process requirements but also align with ecological control demands. They are expected to gradually replace traditional high-volatile coatings, driving the green transformation of the coating industry.
