In January 2026, the sedimentation stability of DTF/DTG water-based pigment inks has become a core concern in the digital textile printing industry. As a key consumable for DTF printing technology with a 20% growth rate in 2025, the storage and use stability of water-based pigment inks directly affect printing results, and sedimentation has become a common industry challenge. Its sedimentation form and stratification type determine the ink's use value. Meanwhile, global environmental regulations promote powder-free DTF production, putting forward higher requirements for ink performance.
The industry has established four major stability evaluation indicators including anti-clogging and fluidity, and analyzed the causes of ink instability from three dimensions: physical structure, particle system and chemical environment. Pigments such as carbon black and titanium dioxide have different sedimentation problems due to their characteristics, and temperature changes can also trigger various instability reactions in the ink system. At present, the industry has formed solutions such as dispersant application, purification treatment and pigment surface modification. Inks with self-dispersion technology have performed outstandingly, achieving 2-year room temperature stability, and standardized storage conditions have also become the key to stability guarantee.
