China Breaks Through 600℃ High-Temperature Resistant Powder Coating Technology

Hits: 271 img

On April 17, 2026, China made a major technological breakthrough in the field of high-temperature resistant powder coatings, successfully developing a powder coating that can stably withstand 600℃. It has passed the rigorous test in a muffle furnace at 600℃ for 4 hours, providing a new solution for high-temperature working condition protection.

The coating adopts an innovative secondary film-forming technology. Organic silicone resin serves as the primary film-forming substance, forming a basic coating film during low-temperature curing. Combined with low-melting-point glass powder, wollastonite and other fillers for secondary film-forming, the organic silicone resin decomposes at high temperatures, and the molten glass powder adheres to residues to form a stable inorganic ceramic film, ensuring high-temperature stability. The formula balances mechanical properties, rust prevention and flame retardancy. Epoxy resin enhances toughness, zinc powder and aluminum phosphate prevent rust and retard flame, and manganese iron black provides stable coloring. The processing is simple with extrusion temperature at 110-120℃ and baking at 230℃ for 25 minutes, suitable for industrial mass production. This technology overcomes the problems of easy decomposition and peeling of traditional coatings at high temperatures, and can be widely used in metallurgy, automobile, aviation and other high-temperature scenarios, promoting the upgrading of high-performance protective coating industry.
