On May 12, 2026, the construction waterproofing industry addressed the common pinhole problem in JS waterproofing spraying. Experts summarized core causes and targeted solutions to improve project quality.
Pinholes frequently appear on JS waterproofing films, impairing appearance and performance. The main reasons include oversized sand without proper gradation, excessively thin slurry with poor cohesion, dry and loose base layers without sealing, excessive spraying pressure and long gun distance, and immediate spraying without defoaming after mixing.
To fix these, five key steps are recommended: use fine sand with optimized gradation, properly increase slurry viscosity; apply interface agent to seal the base layer; adjust spraying pressure and gun distance reasonably; let the mixed slurry stand for defoaming before construction. Standardized implementation can eliminate pinholes fundamentally, ensure dense and durable waterproof layers, and upgrade the standardization of building waterproofing construction.
