On May 5, 2026, with the implementation of GB/T23440-2025
Inorganic Waterproofing and Leak-stopping Materials, the building waterproofing sector embraces a technical upgrade. Made mainly of sulphoaluminate cement and Portland cement, this material features five core advantages: rapid setting, fast strength development, excellent impermeability, inorganic environmental friendliness and easy construction. It enables water-bearing construction and instant water stop, suitable for both damp and water-gushing scenarios, and widely applied in leakage treatment of basements, kitchens, tunnels, pools, roofs and other parts.
The standard classifies products into Type Ⅰ (slow-setting for dry and wet bases) and Type Ⅱ (fast-setting for leakages and gushing water), specifying key indicators such as coating impermeability pressure and specimen impermeability pressure to ensure product quality and engineering safety. Free of organic solvents, it is eco-friendly and safe for drinking water projects. It can be used by mixing with water, and small-batch and frequent mixing is recommended for Type Ⅱ to avoid waste. The new standard regulates industrial development, facilitates efficient repair of building leakages and promotes the quality improvement of waterproofing projects.
