When aircraft traverse polar air masses at 30,000 feet, or when medical blood storage units operate at -80°C, the reliability of sealing materials is a matter of safety. IOTA’s IOTA 3120 Methyl Phenyl Vinyl Silicone Gum provides the foundational material guarantee for these extreme scenarios.
The IOTA 3120 molecular chain contains a high concentration of phenyl groups. While retaining the high-temperature resistance and dielectric properties of standard methyl vinyl silicone rubber, it significantly enhances radiation resistance, ablation resistance, and low-temperature performance. Remarkably, it maintains flexibility at -110°C—a capability far beyond the reach of ordinary silicone rubber.
On the application side, IOTA 3120 is primarily used for: low-temperature sealing materials and waterproof insulation in aviation, electronics, and chemical industries; blood refrigeration seals and medical tubing in healthcare; and radiation-resistant, high-temperature, and ablation-resistant molded products and specialty seals.
The product offers adjustable phenyl content (5%–40%) and a molecular weight of 400,000–800,000. Synthesized using D4 as the raw material, its vinyl groups are uniformly distributed along the side chains, ensuring high crosslinking density and excellent rebound. It is packaged in 25kg cartons with a 24-month shelf life.
