The preparation of a suppository refers to a preparation for the cavity that the medicine and the base are melted, poured into the suppository mold while it is hot, and then cooled and shaped, and then smoothed out.
The release agent of water-soluble suppository products commonly used simethicone, liquid paraffin; simethicone is a non-petrochemical product, to reduce the possible risk of allergies, irritation and other reactions.
Suppositories with poloxamer 188 (poloxamer) as the base must use simethicone as a release agent because poloxamer 188 has hygroscopic properties.
