Silicone waste gas treatment plan | How to deal with waste gas from silicone oil production

Hits: 334 img

Characteristics of sources of organic silicon waste gas

Organic silicon waste gas mainly comes from chemical reactions, material transfer, equipment cleaning and product drying in the production process. Its characteristics include:

1. High VOCs concentration: The low volatility of organic silicon compounds leads to a high concentration of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in the waste gas.
2. Complex composition: Contains a variety of organic silicon compounds, which may also be mixed with harmful substances such as hydrogen chloride (HCl), methyl chloride, methanol, etc.
3. Toxicity and irritation: Some waste gas components are toxic or irritating, posing potential hazards to humans and the environment.
4. Difficult to handle: The complex composition makes organic silicon waste gas difficult to handle, and it requires comprehensive treatment with multiple technologies.

Process flow of organic silicon waste gas treatment

The general process flow of treating organic silicon waste gas is as follows:

1. Pretreatment: Use a bag filter to remove dust particles in the waste gas.
2. Cooling and dehumidification: Cool and dehumidify the high-temperature waste gas for subsequent treatment.
3. Acid-base neutralization: For acidic gases such as hydrogen chloride (HCl), acid-base neutralization is used for treatment.
4. Condensation recovery: Condensation is used to recover VOCs with low boiling points such as methyl chloride.
5. Adsorption method: Use activated carbon adsorption tower to adsorb organic waste gases such as methanol.
6. Catalytic oxidation/combustion: For organic waste gases that are not easy to condense, catalytic combustion or direct combustion technology is used to convert organic matter into CO2 and water.
7. Biological treatment: Under appropriate circumstances, biological methods are used to treat low-concentration organic waste gases and use microorganisms to degrade organic matter.
8. Emission monitoring: The treated waste gas is discharged after being ensured to meet the emission standards through an online monitoring system.
