November 17, 2025 - As a key material with multiple outstanding properties, silicone has maintained steady development in the domestic market in recent years. According to the latest data from Baichuan Yingfu, as of December 2024, the total capacity of China's silicone industry has reached 3.44 million tonnes (converted to DMC), with the industry concentration continuing to rise. The CR5 and CR8 have reached 60% and 79% respectively, showing a market pattern dominated by leading enterprises.
Silicone compounds, with their unique Si-C bond structure, possess excellent bonding and sealing properties, resistance to high and low temperatures, and weather resistance. Their downstream applications cover various fields such as construction, electronic appliances, processing and manufacturing, and textiles. Against the backdrop of the rapid development of the new energy industry, silicone materials have become core supporting products: in the new energy vehicle sector, they are widely used in key links such as power battery PACK sealing, structural bonding and thermal conductivity, and battery potting, while providing coating protection for BMS battery management systems and battery case sealing solutions; in the photovoltaic field, targeting the thin, brittle and oxidation-prone characteristics of solar cells, silicone materials effectively ensure the long-term stable operation of photovoltaic modules in complex natural environments with their excellent sealing, electrical insulation and weather resistance.
In terms of enterprise capacity distribution, Hesheng Silicon Industry ranks first in the industry with an annual capacity of 865,000 tonnes, accounting for 25.1% of the market share; Jiangxi Bluestar Xinghuo, Dongyue Silicon Materials, Xingfa Group and Xinan Chemical follow closely with capacities of 350,000 tonnes, 301,000 tonnes, 300,000 tonnes and 250,000 tonnes respectively, each occupying about 10% of the market share. Enterprises such as Luxi Chemical, Sanyou Chemical and Dow also have an annual capacity of 200,000 tonnes, showing a significant leading effect in the industry. With the continuous release of demand in emerging fields such as new energy, China's silicone industry is expected to achieve higher-quality development through capacity optimization and technological upgrading.
