On December 23, 2025, Zhang Li, Assistant Minister of the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM), hosted the third roundtable conference with foreign trade enterprises in 2025 in Shanghai. Representatives from 10 foreign trade enterprises attended the meeting, conducting in-depth exchanges on key topics including the operation of import and export in 2025 and the development trend of foreign trade in 2026. Relevant representatives from MOFCOM, the People's Bank of China, the General Administration of Customs, and the State Taxation Administration were present to respond to enterprise demands on site.
Zhang Li pointed out at the meeting that since 2025, China's foreign trade has withstood multiple pressures amid a complex and severe external environment, achieving rapid growth in imports and exports and continuous optimization of the trade structure, which has provided strong support for stabilizing the national economic fundamentals and employment situation. In the next step, MOFCOM will adhere to the "three important" positioning of commercial work, fully implement the decisions and arrangements of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, increase policy support, promote the innovative development of foreign trade, deepen the integration of trade and investment as well as the integration of domestic and foreign trade, and help foreign trade achieve a sound start in the "15th Five-Year Plan" period.
Representatives of participating enterprises expressed recognition for the series of foreign trade support policies issued by the state, believing that relevant policies have effectively helped enterprises transform and upgrade and expand international cooperation space. Faced with the uncertainty of the current international environment, enterprises will actively respond to challenges with the support of policies and are fully confident in achieving stable business development. In response to the specific issues and development suggestions put forward by enterprises, representatives from multiple participating departments gave on-site responses and communications.
It is reported that this roundtable conference is the third forum held by MOFCOM with foreign trade enterprises in 2025, following the previous two on May 12 and September 9. By regularly building a government-enterprise communication platform, relevant departments continue to listen to the voices of enterprises, implement precise policies to solve development difficulties, and inject sustained momentum into the high-quality development of foreign trade.
