December 23, 2025 - The latest research results on sodium alginate microspheres released by a scientific research team in Jiangsu have attracted industry attention. These gel particles based on natural polysaccharide sodium alginate (SA) have achieved cross-border applications in food, biomedicine, environmental governance and other fields due to their excellent biocompatibility, degradability and low-cost advantages. At present, various preparation technologies for sodium alginate microspheres have been developed, including extrusion, emulsion crosslinking, and electrospray methods. The particle size can be adjusted between 10 μm and 1000 μm to meet the needs of different scenarios. In the environmental field, as a high-efficiency adsorbent, it can purify water, remediate soil, remove heavy metals and organic pollutants, with the advantages of easy recovery and environmental friendliness. In the future, the research team will focus on breaking through the preparation technology of nano-scale microspheres with uniform particle size, further expanding their applications in precision medical fields such as targeted drug delivery and molecular diagnosis, and promoting the implementation of more cross-border innovative achievements.
