Cyclone Separator Becomes a Core Equipment in the Petrochemical Industry

Hits: 186 img

In petrochemical production, the cyclone separator has become a core equipment in the field of gas-solid separation by virtue of the centrifugal separation principle without power drive, building a solid barrier for the efficient production and environmental operation of refineries. The equipment uses centrifugal force to separate impurities. After the dust-containing gas enters tangentially, it forms a high-speed swirl flow. The outer swirl flow throws heavy particles to the wall of the device for sedimentation, while the inner swirl flow discharges the clean gas from the top. Whether the particles can hit the device wall before being carried away by the airflow is the key to the success of separation. As the "lifeline" of petrochemical processes, it is widely used in three major scenarios: FCC fluid catalytic cracking, flue gas energy recovery, and gas-solid conveying and environmental protection. It can capture dust below 10 microns to avoid wear of downstream equipment. Equipped with a ceramic wear-resistant lining, the equipment can withstand high temperature and pressure above 500℃. The design without moving parts allows it to run continuously for several years, adapting to the super-large processing capacity demand of large refineries. Its separation efficiency can be improved by increasing the flow rate and reducing the radius, but it will bring the problem of increased pressure drop. The separation efficiency for fine dust below 5 microns is limited, and it needs to be used with bag filters and scrubbers, realizing the dual protection of equipment and environment while reducing dust emissions.
