The possible behaviors of droplets of dripping pills in the condensing agent include spreading, formation of droplets and mixing. Generally, putting a liquid with a lower surface tension into a liquid with a higher surface tension will spread on the surface, otherwise it is easy to form droplets. Dimethicone is the condensation agent with the smallest surface energy among the common water-soluble dripping pill condensation agents (liquid paraffin 0.035 N/m, vegetable oil 0.035 N/m, simethicone 0.021 N/m).
In addition, there are many types of simethicone. You can adjust the temperature and choose different types of simethicone to adjust the forming and precipitation speed of the droplets in the condensing agent to achieve the best process and quality conditions. There are hidden dangers of polluting petrochemical products with toxic substances and water-based drip pills, which may become discolored and mildewed. This is not guaranteed by liquid paraffin and vegetable oil.
Especially the dripping pills with S-40 (polyoxyethylene monostearate) and poloxamer as the matrix must use dimethyl silicone oil as the condensate, and liquid paraffin cannot be used as the condensate. Silicone oil can increase the dissolution of poorly water-soluble active drugs, which is conducive to the absorption of drugs; poloxamer (poloxamer) can not use liquid paraffin as a condensate because of its hygroscopicity. (Regular treatment technology of simethicone in the production of dripping pills; due to the high price of simethicone, it should be recycled as much as possible in production. The used simethicone will be mixed with foreign matter. One of the most common foreign matter is produced during the preparation of dripping pills. The broken pellets can be removed by filtration, standing precipitation or centrifugation; in addition, the common foreign matter is water. When simethicone with mixed oil and moisture is used as the condensing agent, the dripping pill may be dissolved, deformed or even unable to condense. Hard, the method to remove the water in simethicone is: freeze the simethicone with moisture at -4°C, take it out after the moisture has condensed into ice, filter it quickly, and then remove it.
